The Power of Time

Time in focus

There’s something about a big life transition, like moving to a new home after 20 years, that has a way of bringing time into sharp focus.

As I’ve been preparing to move, I’ve spent countless hours with boxes and bins, some untouched for years. I’ve sorted, packed, and let go. And with every decision (keep, donate, bless and release) I’ve realized I wasn’t just dealing with stuff. I was in a full-on reckoning with time.

The time that has passed.

The time I have now.

The time that lies ahead.

Time is often called our most valuable asset. But do we treat it that way? Too often, we spend it like loose change—on habits, stories, and distractions that don’t serve us. Or we hoard it, waiting for the “perfect” moment to use it.

But just like our belongings, time carries meaning. Behind each minute is a memory, an intention, or a choice waiting to be made.

This season has challenged me to reflect on how I’ve been using my time and what I want to make space for moving forward. It’s reminded me that time isn’t just something we have, it’s something we’re in relationship with. And like all relationships, it deserves our attention, care, and intention.

So I’ve been asking myself, and invite you to ask yourself:

  • Am I spending my time in ways that nourish me?

  • What rituals, relationships, or routines deserve more space and time?

  • What am I carrying that it’s time to let go of?

  • What kind of life do I want to build with the time I’ve been given?

These are powerful questions, especially during seasons of transition. But you don’t have to be moving homes to ask them. You might be packing away an outdated belief, shedding an old role, or simply feeling the nudge of change.

Time is always inviting us forward.

Sometimes with a whisper. Sometimes with a jolt.

The question is: Are we listening?

So take a moment, right now if you can, and ask yourself:

  • Who am I becoming?

  • How do I want to spend this next season of my life?

  • What parts of my past can I honor, while still making space for what’s next?

Because no matter where you are, whether you’re at the threshold of a new chapter, in the thick of a transition, or simply feeling the stirrings of change, you get to choose how you meet your time.

You get to decide what stays, what goes, and what gets your energy and time now.

And that, my friend, is a beautiful kind of power.

If you’re ready to be more intentional with your time, your choices, and your next chapter, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. This is the work I love most: helping people reconnect with who they are now and shape what’s possible next.

Here’s to using our time with clarity, compassion, and courage!
